As a graduate of the AGACNP specialty, you will be prepared as a beginning level advanced practice provider of care for acutely ill adults with multiple and complex problems. 

The Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certificate is a 4-semester, part-time opportunity for the working RN. Web delivery of course content is complemented with campus experiences for learning and demonstrating health assessment skills. The AGACNP certificate is not offered every year. Interested applicants should contact the College of Nursing Office of Student Affairs to verify that the certificate will be offered at the time of application. Upon completion of the program you will be eligible to take an adult AGACNP national board certifying examiniation. To quality for entry into the AGACNP Graduate Certificate program, you must have an MS degree in nursing and RN experience in an acute care setting. Participation in a Clinical Skills Intensive (CSI) scheduled on campus just prior to the start of the second fall semester is required. Additionally, the certificate requires a minimum of 28 credits and 810 clinical hours.
