The University of Arizona School of Theatre, Film & Television has been named in Variety’s 2026 Education Impact Report, a national recognition highlighting top film and entertainment programs across the U.S and Canada. The recognition marks the university's debut on the list, commending its growing reputation for innovative and hands-on education in film, television, and media.

Published April 22nd, Variety recognizes the school for its interdisciplinary approach to storytelling, and its commitment to preparing students for careers in film, television, and media. Initiatives like FTV LA, the School’s partnership with Film Independent, provide students opportunities to expand their professional network and to facilitate their creative and professional work in a major production hub.

"This is such an honor for our School. It is a testament to the hard work of our faculty and students, and the important contributions from our alumni. The exciting thing about our online program is the students can become involved in many of the experiential education aspects such as the annual trip to Sundance, in person or virtual internships, and involvement with the LA program. The courses are designed and taught by faculty who have extensive experience in the film and TV industries." – Nicole Koschmann, Program Director, Arizona Online Film & Television Bachelor of Arts Program

This recognition reflects the university's growing national reputation in film and media and underscores its commitment to expanding experiential learning opportunities for students. As the entertainment industry continues to evolve, the School of Theatre, Film & Television continues to grow as a leading destination for emerging storytellers and visionaries.
