The Eller Graduate Certificate in General Management and Organizations focuses on developing your people and decision-making skills. You’ll better understand hiring, training, coordinating, and creating an effective environment for attaining organizational objectives. You’ll also learn to lay a foundation for managing many different organizations.
Gain knowledge in several business areas to prepare for graduate business coursework. The certificate requires a minimum of 9 units in various areas to gain general management knowledge.
If you are preparing to reenter higher education or seeking professional development to advance your career, this certificate might be ideal for you.
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and 3-5 years of work experience is required for this certificate.

This course applies career management theories, methods, and best practices to empower you to manage your career successfully now and in the future. Focus will be given to resume and cover letter writing, personal branding, networking, interview skills, and job search techniques.
This course will explore the academic topic of negotiations in more depth than MGMT/LAW 564, a prerequisite for this course. It is designed to give the student a deeper understanding of the topic. This course is both skills and knowledge-based. You will be exposed to cutting-edge issues in negotiation research.
This class is about the art and science of becoming a better influence "detective," being a more effective agent of change, and better defending against influence attempts used against us when they are undesirable. This class integrates research from psychology, organizational behavior, decision-making, behavioral economics, marketing, advertising, and other disciplines to better understand influence in various organizational contexts.
This course provides a foundational understanding of how the legal system works in the US and how it affects businesses. Students will acquire a general understanding of the laws that affect their jobs, their company, their industry, and business in general. You will also be able to identify situations when legal issues arise in the business world. Topics covered include business organizations, contracts, employment rights & discrimination, courts & litigation, and governmental business regulation.
This course introduces participants to advanced management and organizational leadership topics and current, relevant research from various disciplines and domains. Faculty and guest experts will share information, answer questions, and moderate class discussions. Units will vary by the contact hours per program.
